A New Cloud Based Access Control System in Surrey

Scope of Work

System D were awarded a project to deliver a new cloud-based electronic access control system for a client relocating to a refurbished office in Surrey. The client wanted to transition from a traditional on-premises access control system to a cloud-hosted solution to support their office move and modernise their security infrastructure.

Client Requirements

The primary objectives of the project were to:

  • Eliminate the need for on-site servers, reducing capital expenditure and server maintenance costs.

  • Increase flexibility by enabling remote system management.

  • Outsource server maintenance, software updates, and cybersecurity responsibilities to the cloud service provider.

  • Install a reliable, modern electronic access control system that met the client's operational and security requirements before staff occupied the new office.

Scope of Work

Following completion of the office refurbishment, System D carried out the installation of the new access control system. The works included:

  • Installation and commissioning of a new cloud-based electronic access control system.

  • Installation of new security cabling throughout the office.

  • Installation of new electronic locking hardware on designated doors.

  • Installation of emergency break-glass units to ensure safe emergency egress.

  • Installation of the latest generation access card readers. We installed the latest Wavelynx Apex readers, which offers the highest level of security and flexibility for the end user.

  • Installation of dedicated mains circuits to provide compliant and reliable power supplies for the new equipment.

  • System configuration, testing, and commissioning to ensure all components operated correctly and communicated securely with the cloud platform.

Project Outcome

The project was completed successfully following the building refurbishment and was delivered in time for the client's office relocation. The new cloud-based system provides improved flexibility, allowing authorised personnel to manage access remotely while reducing ongoing maintenance requirements associated with local servers. The installation also improved the overall security of the premises through modern hardware and current access control technology. After installation we carried out client training which was very straightforward and easy to manage, this was mainly due to the intuitive user interface of the system installed.
